Q. WTF is this site? What is 'Personalised Music Experience'?
A: moodrex is a web 2.1 mashup featuring user-generated content that leverages the wisdom of the cloud to stream realtime updates to the social graph of users and their RSS feeds.
Personalised Music Experience is a concept that we want you to adopt, much like you adopt a pet from a pet store. We want you to come to moodrex and create your own Personalised Music Experience, over time you will find your moodrex PME will react to your mood and give you the music you want to hear right then and there.
Q. Is moodrex like Pandora?
A: Simply put, we are better then Pandora. moodrex is a new way to enjoy music, the music you hear is music you like. You control what is played on moodrex. Using the publicly avaliable discovery API by SeeqPod, we provide you with relevent music results for each query.
The discovery results are the direct result of millions of people building playlists. This type of music discovery is using the wisdom of the cloud to provide you relevent music.
Q. Why are the recommendations off sometimes? I asked for Metallica, Beastie Boys, and Rage Against the machine, not that pansy music like Ann Murray, John Tesh, Yanni?
A: That sounds like a complaint and not a question. We are sorry you received those troubling recommendations, but please be aware this is a work in progress. If you get a recommendation you do not like, you can simply remove the Artist, Album, or Track that offends you. The next time you are rocking out to Beastie Boys and Ann Murray comes on, just click the little red X.
You could also look deep inside an ask yourself if moodrex knows you better than you know yourself. Can you accept the Anne Murray love inside of you?
Q. How come a song's information comes up, but then doesn't play?...I really wanted to hear that song.
A: Sorry, this is known bug and our engineers are working on it. If you REALLY like the song, I recommend buying it. Seriously, buying music is cool again.
Q. How do I sign up? How can I save my PME?
A: You can't. We'll be integrating Facebook and open social soon. Patience, young Skywalker.
Q. How does moodrex remember my artists?
A: The artists you enter are saved into our database and you're identified by a cookie. So if you clear cookies from your browser all that you've entered will be lost. But that's the way the cookie crumbles. XD
Q. Why is moodrex so dark, can someone turn on the lights?
A: Black is the new green and moodrex has choosen to darken itself. By darkening our site, we estimate we save enough power to run 4 rural houses in Nova Scotia, Canada.
